The Lord Of The Rings & The Hobbit Trilogy Released in UHD 4K Blu-Ray

The 4K remastering process was overseen by Peter Jackson, which adds more authenticity to these editions, with the original director helping with the process. These trilogies have long been awaiting 4K treatment and fans can now rejoice as the UHD remastering certainly don’t disappoint.

The 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray discs of The Hobbit Trilogy and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy feature Dolby Vision HDR that dramatically expands the colour palette and contrast range to make the films even more visually attractive to the eye. The Blu-Rays also use dynamic metadata to automatically optimize the picture for every screen, frame by frame.

The Trilogies now also feature a Dolby Atmos® soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theatre environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room, including overhead. Dolby Atmos soundtracks are also fully backward compatible with traditional audio configurations and legacy home entertainment equipment.

In addition to the films themselves, its great to see that the extended editions of each film has also been rendered in 4K, this should delight fans who want to see more from the 6 fantastic films. It’s convenient to have both Theatrical & Extended editions included, so you have the option to switch between the two. The Extended Editions feature even more scenes & storytelling to expand on the adventure through Middle Earth – perfect for any fan.

The 4K editions of The Hobbit Trilogy and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy certainly impress and are the perfect gift for a Middle Earth fan this Christmas.
