A Neilson Ski Holiday

A Neilson Ski Holiday

Neilson has over 40 years of experience in providing award-winning beach club, sailing and ski holidays across the Med and in some of the best mountain resorts Europe has to offer. From beginner skiers through to experts, groups to family holidays, Neilson provides skiing holidays to cater for all your needs.

Neilson recently invited us on a 7-night Ski Holiday to the French Alps for a Christmas Break to review their service and what they can offer. We stayed at the Neilson Chalet Hotel Escapade in Alpe d’Huez, France which was overall, just fantastic. Neilson offers brilliant ski holidays with an all-in-one price which includes the flights, transfers and the accommodation, making it super easy to organise everything you need for your perfect ski holiday. We had direct flights from Birmingham to Grenoble (1hr 45 min duration) and from there it was about a 2-hour transfer by coach to the chalet. Neilson offer return flights from 7 UK airports, meaning their ski holidays are easy to take advantage of!

The accommodation itself was fantastic with newly refurbished and cosy rooms, sleeping between two and four people. Some rooms even offer views of the alps with a balcony, a nice place to relax. The chalet has lots of facilities with an indoor and outdoor hot tub, sauna, steam room, sun terrace and the chalet dining room. Also, there is daily housekeeping with fresh towels each day along with Temple Spa toiletries. As well as free wi-fi there is a ski storage room with heated ski boot warmers. The chalet staff are attentive and friendly, which makes the holiday even more enjoyable.

The chalet’s catering was exceptional with an extensive breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals that are delicious. There is a wide range of freshly cooked breakfast options on offer each morning to fuel you for the day. Also, you will find fresh cakes and snacks prepared for you at lunchtime for afternoon teal, perfect after a morning session on the slopes. There are a total of 6 evening meals over the 7 nights which are served with complimentary wine and fresh coffee afterwards. For each meal, there was a 3 course set menu with each dish being inspired by regional cuisine, and every dish was delicious. Having 6 meals leaves one night to explore Alpe D’Huez and have a night out at one of the local restaurants.

Included with the holiday, there are free ski guiding and coaching lessons with Neilson Mountain Experts to help you get around the slopes, just ask the staff about it. The chalet was only approx. 100 metres away from the lift which is a nice short walk and is very convenient.

To conclude, our trip away with Neilson was one to remember with such a welcoming chalet and entourage of staff that were there to help. Neilson has that essential experience to provide the perfect ski holiday for everyone. With low deposits and frequent discounts on ski lift passes, Neilson is a great ski holiday provider, that we recommend.
