Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Resort Review:
In the heart of the Walt Disney World Resort, the award-winning Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort is the home of easy access to Central Florida’s greatest theme parks and attractions, more specifically, Disney World. The resort is located in between Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios and near Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and Magic Kingdom Park. The hotel is split into two areas the Dolphin and the Swan. After analysing each area, the Dolphin side is probably the better out the two with more suites and accommodation options.
This upscale hotel has 17 world-class restaurants and lounges, including steak, seafood, Italian, sushi, poolside dining venues, and 24-hour room service to cater to your needs. Other amenities include the exquisite Mandara Spa and five pools, including a grotto pool with a water slide and waterfalls. There is also a white sand beach, two health clubs, tennis, jogging trails, boat rentals, a game room, and a children’s activity centre. The hotel grounds are absolutely massive and beautiful to walk around with nurtured greenery and plants.
A perk for staying at the hotel is that you are entitled to many special Disney benefits, including complimentary transportation to the Hollywood Studios & Epcot theme parks and extra magic hours to access short queues at extended park times, especially for hotel guests. There is a parking fee at the hotel but by paying this, you are able to park for free at all other theme parks when you show your room key.
After a long day, the sophisticated guest rooms and suites offer the perfect retreat. The centrepiece of the rooms is the Westin Heavenly Bed, featuring a pillow-top mattress, white goose-down comforter, 250 thread-count sheets, and five overstuffed pillows. They are the highlight of each room with luxurious comfort to relax with ease.
However, the rooms are still quite basic with nothing special to make it different from any other hotel. Therefore, as this is a high-end hotel, the price for a night just isn’t exactly worth it with an additional resort fee as well. Furthermore, the facilities and reception area are welcoming with water features and the cleanliness of the whole resort is more than satisfactory. In addition, parking is limited at the hotel, feeling like the hotel may be forcing you to opt for valet parking instead (for an additional fee).
The Swan & Dolphin Resort provides a nice retreat away in the heart of Central Florida. However, with an expensive price tag, the rooms are just like any other budget hotel. The hotel does excel in its facilities and amenities along with it being especially convenient for Disney World Guests.
